On Friday, November 21, don’t miss the New Zealand indie rockers Mild Orange, who are touring their latest album, THE//GLOW, with support from fellow new zealander HEAVY CHEST.
The band has built an international following on the back of songs that have unfolded like secrets shared between friends and lovers. Or as Billboard put it, 'Mild Orange have mastered making music for the nostalgic’.
They are now becoming a mainstay in the indie world with their fierce ambition and drive, having performed in North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Africa – all while remaining independent.
After releasing their third album Looking For Space - which Rolling Stone called ‘the band at their luscious best’ - and selling out headline concerts in renowned venues around the world from NYC, Paris, L.A, Warsaw and beyond, the band relocated to London where they would begin working on their fourth album THE//GLOW.
Released this August, the album is split into two parts; one part heartland rock for the glow of the roads less known; and one part late night psych rock for the glow of the city lights. Now based in London, the band traded New Zealand’s untamed landscapes for the city’s electric sprawl - a shift that inspired its dual nature.

HEAVY CHEST is a music project from Aotearoa, New Zealand founded in 2015 by songwriter Andre Smith. Since the debut album ‘PREHEAT’ in 2017 the project has taken many directions and released a range of music. He is currently operating as a solo artist running intimate shows and releasing self produced music.
Seven short years have seen an explorative discography's swift and true maturation. Yet, since inception, each instalment has shown a willingness to adapt and change direction keeping each release fresh and different from the last.
In 2022, HEAVY CHEST collaborated with international artist BENEE on the single ‘SUNDAY926’. Produced by Andre this ethereal pop ballad showcases the depth of writing now synonymous with the project. This first international feature, along with a second through Kip Nelson (USA) and three classic releases through the French Label NiceGuysRecords, means HEAVY CHEST soundwaves have long since left South Pacific shores.
