In 2026, Luna Amară mark 20 years since their second album, Loc lipsă. It’s the record that gave us some of their most beloved songs - “Loc lipsă,” “Somn,” “Albastru,” “Luni de fiere” - as well as tracks we love just as much, even if they surface less often: “Happiness Provider,” “În cercuri” and “Cui și spin.” And they are bringing it to Control on April 16.
Luna Amară have a trademark sound - a unique fusion of heavy guitar riffs, trumpet solos and complex compositions, fronted by two vocalists with contrasting but complementary personalities and approaches. They are influenced by bands like Tool, Deftones, Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam, to name a few, and have recently celebrated 16 years of continuous and relentless activity in the Romanian rock scene. Constantly touring and active in the support of social causes, the band built a strong fan base in their home country. As well as an aggressive touring schedule of their own, the band has been the opening act for huge international acts such as Ozzy Osbourne, Deftones, HIM, Rammstein or Iggy Pop, both in Romania and abroad.
Featuring a more subdued sound, elegant, melodic and making use of a string quartet for the first time ever, „Aproape” marks a pinnacle for the band’s mellower side. While maintaining their knack for thoughtful, complex compositions, rich arrangements and thought-provoking, visceral lyrics, Luna Amară delivers a powerful reminder of how wide the scope of their artistry truly is.
