DECADANS:Charlotte Bendiks / Chlorys / Borusiade
Decadans – Queer bodies entangled at night.Monthly queer party with a focus on an exquisit curation of international and local guest djs and performers, taking place in Bucharest’s infamous Control Club.
/// Charlotte Bendiks- the northern ambassador of distant intimacy. She likes dogs, Jacuzzis, riding a bike, , bålkos, å få napp, her own oceans of emotions, hummus, Rhabarbersaftschorle, free WiFi, Mezcal, dark days and dark nights, talking fast, dancing slow, serious shit, funny shit, singing, getting dirty, staying away, getting close, going hard, being active, being passive, being together, being there, getting it all.A DJ, a producer, and a positive thinker, she spent the last years exploring music, people, life and places. From her home town Tromsø, where she ran her own clubseries, actively shaped the Insomnia Festival, and released two records on Mental Overdrive’s Love OD label, to Cologne, where she cooperated with artists like Coma, Lena Willikens, and developed a long lasting mutual love affair with the Salon des Amateurs. She has been traveling ever since and played, danced, loved, and laughed her way around the globe- from Buenos Aires’ infamous Dengue Dancing Parties, to festival sites in Hanoi, Montevideo, Marseille, and Berlin.Playful and silly, and therefore confident and sexy, whether as a Dj or playing live, her music is deep, dark, and psychedelic.
/// Chlorys is a musical & visual entity based in Bucharest, part of Queer Night family, Shape Platform artist in 2017, and since 2016 until present, a founding member of Corp. platform, its main focus on representing and promoting queer identities (trans, nonbinary etc.). She has streched her tentacles also locally, and also internationally, having played shows in Berlin, Stockholm, London, Paris, Lyon, Nantes. She has been a Noods Radio resident for three years, in charge of Alien Flora and a host on the local radio Black Rhino together with Corp, hosting a monthly show called Corpcast.Aside from being active on the local clubbing scene, she also tinkers with the visual and sound arts.
/// Born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, Borusiade aka Miruna Boruzescu started dj-ing in 2002 as one of the very few female DJs in the city’s emerging alternative clubbing scene.
Influenced by a classical musical education, a bachelor in film direction and fascinated by raw electronic sounds Borusiade combined these universes in the construction of her DJ sets and starting 2005 also in her music production.
Her sound is gloomy and epic, with beats that touch one’s deepest senses on the dance-floor.
Expatriated in Berlin, and after experimenting with different projects, Borusiade slowly crystallised a sound of her own, often dark, with poignant bass lines, obsessive themes and by all means melodic. After her successful debut EP “Jeopardy” on Cómeme in 2016, “Feelings Of Entropy” came out the same year on Jennifer Cardini’s label Correspondant.2017 she released a split EP on Veronica Vassika’s acclaimed label Cititrax, carving her way into a more industrial sound and proving the complexity of her production.
Her first LP “A Body” was released on Cómeme in 2018. Other EPs followed: ‘Their Specters’ on Berlin infamous Ostgut Ton’s sublabel Unterton and Misfits Of Broken Dreams’ on the Dutch label Pinkman Records. 2020 marked the release of the second LP ‘Fortunate Isolation’ on the infamous american label Dark Entries.Sparse tracks and remixes on labels like Dekmantel, Osare Editions, Microdosing, Diffuse Reality, Monika Enterprise or Relish.
